Ice, Ice babies

Two of Stoke City’s most promising youngsters are set to join Icelandic Premiership club Víkingur Reykjavík on loan over the summer. Defender Carl Dickinson and striker Keith Thomas will spend two months at the club.

Stoke City manager Johan Boskamp said about the moves: “Both players lost six months of this season with broken legs and they need more time to play rather than have two months rest.”

This is not the first time Stoke City have taken advantaged of the Icelandic league season during the summertime. In the summer 2004, defender Richard Keogh, now at Bristol City, and striker Jermaine Palmer both enjoyed successfull spells at Víkingur.

While in 2001 Lewis Neal and Marc Goodfellow spent a month at IBV Vestmannaeyjar.
