Silkeborg IF sign Sveinsson

22 year old Keflavík striker Hördur Sveinsson has put pen to paper on a three year contract with danish Premiership side Silkeborg IF.

Sveinsson joined Silkeborg IF on loan from Icelandic side Keflavík in the january transfer window and has impressed during his spell. The striker scored 4 goals in his first two league matches and has in total scored 5 goals in 8 league matches since he arrived.

The stocky striker scored 16 goals in 24 games for Keflavík in all competitions last season including 4 goals in one game UEFA Cup match against a Luxembourg side. The Icelandic u-21 international also managed to score a brace in the famous 4-1 victory against the Swedish u-21’s on their home turf last October.

He will be contracted to Silkeborg until 2009.

Hörður is probably the most promsing Icelandic stricker now and will probabally move to England in few years.
